The Da Vinci Code

This book is 7th, in the Amazon sales ranking. Now normally I would quite happily ignore any book as popular as this (with the exception of Harry Potter). I don't like reading what everyone else is. I think there are a great number of fantastic books written by authors who are struggling to get off the mid list, and I would rather spend my time with those. Unfortunately in this case the main character, Robert Langdon, has caught my attention. This character is a professor of Religious Symbology at Harvard university, and it is the way in which symbolism gets worked into Dan Brown's books, which keeps them extremely interesting. Although the books are works of fiction, elements of truth are undoubtably present. To reveal the hidden truths, I found that 'Cracking the Da Vinci Code' by Simon Cox, was an excellent companion.

Angels and Demons

Dan Brown's original novel featuring Robert Langdon. It is a unique blend of Religious Symbology, deftly uncovered by Harvard professor, Robert Langdon and crime thriller, where the culpret is not revealed until the end. The suspense and action are well balanced, and if you decide to get a guide such as 'Illuminating Angels and Demons' by Simon Cox, you can learn something in the process.

Holy Cow and Indian Adventure

This book is an international best seller, and not without good reason! If your a student of the social sciences, you might find that exploring other cultures gives you an incredible insight into the human condition and if you like Bill Bryson, this is going to be right up your street. Holy Cow, is a gem of a book, which lets the reader in on Sarah McDonalds experiences whilst living in India.

India is a land where there is no 'in between', it's the land of extremes. The land where the profane sits side by side with the profound as Sarah herself puts it. Within she finds herself on a spiritual journey, exploring each of the religions and taking from each some wisdom for herself. The book begins with a beggars prophesy, that Sarah would one day return and fall in love with the country. Does she? Read it and find out!

The Rule of Four

This is hailed as the thinking man's Da Vinci Code. I've not read it yet, but I have it up for the moment because I know that everyone thats just read the Da Vinci Code, and is crying out for more, will want this immediately, regardless of whether I have a review up or not!

Dark Ghosts Rising, by Sergio Burns

Sergio Burns has been known to visit Gerard's Forum from time to time. I remember a while back there were some whispers regards what was to come. And here it is. The exact size and shape of Mike Cardwell's A - Z, only a whole lot more entertaining. I have started it, the detailed review will come once I have finished reading it.
